Widening participation in MUN

LIMUN HS is focused on opening access to MUN to students across the United Kingdom and internationally

History of the LIMUN High School Conference

While the LIMUN Foundation was created in 2000, it took LIMUN 16 years to launch another conference alongside the popular university conference. It came to life after a group of Trustees, Secretariat members and seasoned participants all united behind a shared goal of increasing the social impact of the charity and the diversity of the community.

The conference aims to provide an accessible starting point and an introduction to MUN to high school students, particularly those whose socioeconomic backgrounds would not afford them a chance to participate in such extracurricular projects.

The conference has steadily grown to attract delegations from within and beyond the shores of the UK. It has remained a hub for growth and, for many, a first glimpse into the multilateral world we share through her institutions.

We are actively seeking new delegations and particularly welcome those new to MUN!

If your school would like to get involved with the conference please do not hesitate to get in touch

HS Connected Programs

  • Connected Scholars Program (CSP)

The Connected Scholars Program (CSP) is a newly created social impact initiative created by the London International Model United Nations: High School Secretariat team in 2021. This program is being delivered within the mandate of the LIMUN Foundation and LIMUN: HS to educate growing students on the values of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and to provide the platform for high school students to discuss and learn how youth can support their local, national, and international community to achieve sustainable development. The program is run in tandem with UNHCR Refugee Challenge, UN Academic Impact and the Millennium Campus Network, with support from the UCL United Nations Association.

  • Connected Delegates Program (CDP)

Connected Delegates Program (CDP) is an online MUN training/workshop program created by the LIMUN: HS Outreach team. As a consequence of the widespread COVID-19 pandemic, we have changed the mode of delivery of our classes to online since we believe that it is important for our students to continue pursuing their passion for Model UN, even at home. With the success of the first cohort of Connected Delegates Program in 2020, the LIMUN: HS Outreach team is continuously running the “Connected Delegates Program (CDP)” every summer through which students can participate in MUN training and workshops online as one of their extracurricular activities anywhere in the world.
