Applications are open for the post of Secretary-General of the 21st session of London International Model United Nations: 2021

About the Role

The Secretary-General will recruit and lead the organising team of the conference, maintain overall responsibility for delivery of the event and report periodically to the LIMUN Foundation's Board of Trustees. They will also serve on the Board for a one-year term, in an ex-officio capacity.

The role calls for a diligent, self-motivated and collaborative individual. They will be wholly responsible for shaping their vision for the conference and working with their secretariat to deliver this. The role also involves working within a plan and timeline to ensure tasks are completed well and in time, budgeting for the conference and ensuring the financial health of the event, ensuring logistics and academic aspects are well covered as well as advertising the event to UNA and delegations, while maintaining good and productive relations with existing partners. The aim of the conference is to encourage participation from students from a wide diversity of backgrounds.

The role also serves for a diligent team manager, who will work on maintaining morale and wellbeing initiatives for the Secretariat, and will be supported to manage stakeholder relationships - particularly liaisons between the secretariat and the Board of Trustees.

Candidates with proposals that highlight how to cultivate and develop stronger relationships with external partners to increase delegates participation and engagement will be favourably looked upon.

Previous MUN experience is required.

LIMUN’s university conference started in 2000 and has become one of the largest conferences in the UK and Europe. Our conference attracts over a thousand delegates, who come from all over the world, to London for our quality debate, legendary socials and the chance to meet with people from around the world. Seasoned MUNers come to our conference to chair in one of the most well-known conferences on the circuit. We have been privileged to welcome high-profile guest speakers to our Opening Ceremonies and have had the honour of using well-known and famous venues. But every year we work with the Secretariat to deliver a new, and often better, iteration of our flagship conference.
